DC Malone is a world class entertainer. Professional musician since 16 and headlining comedian for 35 years he has the talent and experience that shows in his work.
Over the years DC has jammed with or opened for Mitch Ryder, Bo Diddley, Greg Allman, Pablo Cruise, the Talking heads, and Spirit. As far as comedy goes, he’s worked with Tim Allen, Dave Letterman. Drew Carey, and toured Europe with Jango Edwards and the Friends Roadshow just to name a few. He also spends a great deal of time entertaining the troops overseas.
His band the Jones has been playing together for eight years. Comprised of incredibly talented and versatile musicians, they have a gift for taking great classic rock and blues, not to mention classic country and swing, and making it their own. Easing in and out of musical genres, they weave an amazing tapestry in every set.
Their song list is one of the most eclectic of any cover band playing today. Bringing great songs long buried back to life, and playing a set list not burdened with the same songs you hear time and time again in nightclubs.
North Portland Troubador
Everyone in the band has been playing for over thirty years, and loves what they do. They still enjoy playing and performing for enthusiastic crowds, or even just sitting around jamming for themselves or sharing with other musicians, it never grows tiresome.
The band consists of:
DC Malone …guitar/banjitar/harmonica/lead vocals. With an incredible blues style voice, strong rhythm and finger picking guitar technique, His diverse selection of material and over 40 years in the comedy and music industry, DC Malone Is the perfect front man for the band!
Dale Turnbull, Bass guitar. Dale has been playing in bands since the late sixties and that experience shows in his work. Any band is only as good as its rhythm section and Dale consistently rises to the occasion. A highly requested studio player and side man he is a true pocket player and his playing is perfection.
Wailin’
Derek Doggett, Lead Guitar. Although Derek cut his teeth on performing in hard rock and metal bands, he was raised with a love of all types of music and can ease into any style with an ability that would make most other guitarists envious. His masterful lead guitar has brought many an audience to their feet.
Todd Mahan, drums. To have this mans understanding of beat and syncopation is what every great drummer strives for. Rock, jazz, country, world beat, there is nothing this man can’t do. To go from blues to reggae to swing without breaking a sweat is truly something to see. His perfect timing is the foundation this band is built on!
